Aims & Scope

Intelligent Engineering Letters (IEL) is an international, peer-reviewed and open access journal devoted to the theory, methods and applications of intelligent engineering. The journal provides a forum for researchers, engineers and practitioners to report original findings that advance the intelligence of engineered systems.

Aims

IEL aims to publish high-quality research that bridges artificial intelligence and engineering practice. We are particularly interested in work that is scientifically sound, reproducible and demonstrably useful — whether it introduces a new method, provides a rigorous evaluation of an existing one, or reports a significant real-world deployment.

Scope

The journal accepts theoretical and applied research across multiple disciplines, covering topics including but not limited to:

  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
  • Deep Learning and Neural Networks
  • Intelligent Control and Automation
  • Robotics and Autonomous Systems
  • Computer Vision and Image Processing
  • Natural Language Processing
  • Smart Manufacturing and Industry 4.0
  • Cyber-Physical Systems and the Internet of Things
  • Data-Driven Engineering and Knowledge Discovery
  • Intelligent Transportation and Smart Cities
  • Energy Systems and Smart Grids
  • Intelligent Fault Diagnosis and Predictive Maintenance
  • Digital Twins and Simulation-Based Engineering
  • Human–Machine Interaction and Collaborative Intelligence
  • Optimisation, Scheduling and Decision Support
  • Trustworthy, Explainable and Responsible AI for Engineering
